da Vinci

Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery

The da Vinci device has robotic arms that hold endoscopic cameras and surgical tools. While a surgeon makes the initial incisions, the robotic arms are used to perform the procedure. The surgeon receives 3D images from the endoscopic cameras and directs the motion of the robot using handheld controllers.

The Si da Vinci Surgical System, the newest and most advanced model, features:
A dual console, allowing two surgeons to work simultaneously
High-resolution 3D vision
Integration with other audio/visual technologies in the operating room
Enhanced vascular and lymphatic mapping

Benefits of the da Vinci Surgical Robot
Using da Vinci, traditional open surgery can be accomplished endoscopically , with smaller incisions. This minimally invasive surgery offers patients multiple benefits, including:

Shorter hospital stay
Less pain and scarring
Less risk of infection
Less blood loss and fewer transfusions
Faster recovery
Quicker return to normal activities
